First ScotRail:
RMT strike over withdrawal of Guards and plans to impose a Driver Only Operation on the new Edinburgh/Glasgow via Airdrie and Bathgate route.
Dates of strikes as follows:
00.01 hours and 23.59 hours on Monday 1st March 2010.
00.01 hours and 23.59 hours on Saturday 13th March 2010
ScotRail Sleeper services will be affected between:
20.01 hours on Sunday 28th February and 19.59 hours on Monday 1st March 2010
20.01 hours on Sunday 14th March and 19.59 hours on Monday 15th March 2010
Virgin Trains:
Ballot to all Virgin Trains booking office staff for strike action. This due to the refusal of Virgin Trains to make a new technology payment to ticket office staff for the introduction of new ticket machines in ticket offices. The ballot for action opens 02 March and closes on the 16 March 2010.
Peaktime strike (between 4.00am and 9.00am Fridays) in booking offices between London Euston and Glasgow on the West Coast line, over introduction of a new ticket issuing system and more self service machines.
Network Rail:
RMT and TSSA Unions have called a national strike ballot over proposed redundancies of 1500 staff. Ballot opens Feb 25th and closes March 12th 2010. MAJOR DISRUPTION EXPECTED OVER EASTER HOLIDAY PERIOD IF A YES VOTE.
An anonymous Email sent to us, has stated that signallers are to be balloted on strike action, however we do not have firm confirmation of this, as the sender of the Email did not leave correct details to be contacted back.
East Coast:
Ballot for strike action over reduction of commission on ticket sales. Ballot opened Feb 17th and closes 3rd March 2010.
London Underground Metronet:
Strike action by metronet signalling staff has been suspended pending a new offer.
