National Rail Updates

Rails-SnowIn the last several hours railway companies across the Eastern Region of the UK have been hit by severe winter weather. Services on the East Coast Mainline have also been one of the worst affected across the network.

First Capital Connect Services were previously suspended between Ely and Royston (including Cambridge), due to poor visibility and points failures. These services have now been reinstated but expect severe delays and cancellations until the end of service Thursday.

There have also been points freezing on other parts of the FCC network, including Langley Junction (near Stevenage) which has prevented trains from going onto or off the Hertford North branch.

FCC have also issued the following travel brief:
All passengers to be advised not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
Tickets for today (Thursday) will be valid for the next three days. This is due to adverse weather conditions.
