We will no longer accept comments, unless they have a real E-mail address, and real details.
This means that Emails such as anon@anon.anon will NOT be accepted, neither will other obvious fake E-mail addresses.

This change of policy is due to the increased amount of people posting ‘questionable’ comments and hiding behind fake details.

Our system has now been set up to delete these comments automatically without further notification to you.

If you wish to post a comment, you will now need to use your real details. You E-mail address will not be published on the blog.

Penalty Fare Appeal Support has introduced a new portion of our blog site.

We have decided to start up a new caption contest.

Ever so often we will post a new picture and invite your comments, the best ones as determined by PFAS (and our friends down the local ale house) will be published on the site.
The best comment of all will win a £10 E-voucher for Amazon.co.uk. (which is why we need your E-mail address, don’t worry we wont spam you).

The full rules and the latest picture can be found at our new caption contest page.

Penalty Fare Appeal Support is looking for an experienced Volunteer Web Developer to assist our already successful team.

We would like to take a chance to thank all our readers for their support over the last year and take this opportunity  wish you all a very merry Christmas.

We would also like to remind you of several ways in which you can read our blog:

Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/penaltyfare

Feedburner: http://www.penaltyfareappeal.co.uk/wordpress/?page_id=367

Feedburner will send you a email every time a new article is published directly to your inbox.

If you do wish to contribute to the site and help fund our continued work this can be done via our donate page: http://www.penaltyfareappeal.co.uk/pages/donate.php

Once again a very merry Christmas to each and every one of you.

Yes it’s that time of year again and as most of our readers are probably feeling the same effects of the ‘Credit Crunch’, here at PFAS we have also been feeling the effects.

Our server and hosting costs have been increasing over the year and we personally fund the site and deliberately don’t have huge ad space as this is unsightly and as I’m sure you will agree annoying.

If you wish to help fund our server, hosting and development costs for the next 12 months please use the donate button below, as always we will be extremely grateful for all the support.

NX-East-Anglia[1]A ballot by members of the Transport and Salaried Staffs Association who work for National Express East Anglia have today voted by a margin of 3 to 1 for strike action on NXEA.

The TSSA are unable to join the strikes due to happen on 6/7 August as legally they have to give NXEA 7 days notice, however the union warned that when they join the strikes on 13/14 August there will be no trains AT ALL that will run.

TSSA represents most of the Booking Office Clerks and Middle managers. The middle managers were the ones who covered for striking staff during last weeks strikes and thus NXEA were able to run a very limited service.

An RMT spokesperson stated “From next week National Express East Anglia will not be able to run a scheduled service once the [TSSA-affiliated] managers join in.”

Gerry Doherty, the TSSA general secretary, said National Express had a “high-handed” management style, adding, “We have had continued problems at East Anglia and on the East Coast line as the company has tried to drive down costs in its unsuccessful bid to hang on to the east coast franchise.

“Our members are now saying they are no longer willing to pay the price for management failures with any more lost jobs or cuts in their conditions at work.”
